Today in math we had Mrs.Pine in our class.Each group got a problem and my group got the question " 8 chocolate bars between 5 children."In my group I had Andre, Bruce and Rosemary. We solved the problem by splitting the 8 chocolates into fifths because there are 5 children and then give 5 wholes to each of the children.Then there are 3 holes left over so we divided them and gave 3/5 to each child.

Pie graph~Takeaways

Today in room 9 we created a pie graph to see what room 9s favorite takeaway was.

We had the options of

• Carls jr
• Burger king
• Mcdonalds
• KFC
• Sal's Pizza
• Wendy's
• and people that don't eat takeaways

But in the end KFC came out on top..

In Maths this term we have been learning about FRACTIONS


I can find fractions of whole numbers like:

½ of 12 =6                       ⅓ of 9=3                1/10 of 20=2

⅔ of 12= 8                       ⅘ of 10=  8             

I can recognise when a  fraction is greater than 1:

½ + ½ + ½ = 1 1/2

⅓ + ⅓ + ⅓ + ⅓ =1 1/3

7/4 =1 3/4
